Time is passing.
You can sense this.
And you’re still worrying about this and that; every-single-day.
“But these are serious concerns. You don’t understand. There’s a lot on the line here.”
Of course there is. This is the nature of life. And it seems to get all the more serious as the years pass.
Have you noticed this trend? And do you think for one second that it’s unique to you? Or that it’s going to stop? And certainly you know there are many who have had it much, much worse; if only because of their birthplace and time in history.
If you’re not careful, you could spend your whole life worried and anxious about problems and possibilities. This is no way to live.
After all, there will always be something—real or imagined. Life will never be perfect.
We are not denying there are serious immediate matters now and then which will be cause for concern.
But should you be spending every day insecure and worried, or afraid?
Perhaps it’s just that you’ve developed yourself a bit of a bad habit. Yes, perhaps most of your anxiety and worry could simply be a bad habit.
Maybe you’ve simply conditioned yourself to be a worrier or just to be too damned serious all the time. Difficulties and struggles in life can do that to a man. It’s very easy to over adapt under duress.
And maybe you’ve had enough of it by this point in your life.
Perhaps it’s time to just Let Go and Enjoy.
Perhaps it’s time to exhale.
You Do Have This Choice
You do realize, that you do have this choice; to just Let Go and Enjoy your life. There is no one stopping you. You could just decide one day, “That’s it, I’m going to quit walking around with the weight of the world on my shoulders. And I’m going to enjoy my life from now on.”
You do have free will and you can control your Perspective. Even serious difficulties can be handled with composure, confidence and ease if you really decide to do so.
You could simply make a hardcore decision one day to employ Willing Acceptance to all things external and then take Right Action to the best of your ability. There’s nothing more that anyone could ask of a man. There’s nothing more that you could ask of yourself.
And you could also decide to stop worrying about things that might happen in the future. Certainly it’s good to plan and prepare, but at some point you have to decide that fate is fate. If you prepare and it’s not good enough then too bad. You’ll handle that possibility when it occurs.
After all, you’re still alive and you’ve made it this far. Let that spark some confidence. You’ve found a way to overcome before, so you’ll simply do so again if need be. Worse case scenario, you fail miserably and have to start over from scratch. You wouldn’t be the first to do so and you won’t be the last. So be it if that’s the case.
So let these ideas enter your mind then; that your constant worry is just a conditioned habit and that you can choose to be happy and at ease.
And that you can break this cycle and Let Go and Enjoy.
Give Yourself Permission
And as ridiculous as it might sound, you don’t need anyone’s permission to be happy.
Give yourself permission.
Right here and now, I give you permission to give yourself permission.
You don’t need your parents’ permission. You don’t need your wife’s permission. You don’t need your big brother’s permission. And you don’t need your Pastor’s permission.
It’s your decision and yours alone.
And I would also venture to say that none but the Creator Himself wants you to be happy and to relax and enjoy your life. Even if you’ve made mistakes. Even if you’ve done bad things. And even if you’ve hurt people.
As broken as this world is, there is still so much goodness and beauty, it only stands to reason that it’s there to be enjoyed. That makes sense doesn’t it? You wouldn’t be able to see it and long for it if it wasn’t supposed to be. And it seems to me that if you’ve turned the corner, the door is there for you to pass through it just like everyone else.
So give yourself permission and Let Go and Enjoy.
And don’t ever think of it as selfishness to pursue happiness and joy. We’re not talking about empty pleasures here. We’re talking about the ideal intrinsic state. If this is something you would wish for those you care for, then why not wish the same for yourself.
Treat yourself as you would your children, best friend, lover or spouse. You would certainly want them to be at peace and happy, independent of your situation. So why not do the same for yourself. It’s what they would want for you, just as you would want for them.
This is not selfish.
So give yourself permission.
And Let Go and Enjoy.
You’re Going to Die
There’s only one certainty in this life.
You’re going to die.
Time is running out. Each day is one day closer to your last. This cannot be disputed. And it puts every human being on an equal footing. No one is any better than the other in this respect. We are all going to die.
Humans have a way of avoiding and hiding themselves from this fact. And with good reason. It’s a frightening reality unlike almost anything else. No one wants to die. Our instinct is to live. So we do almost anything we can to divert our attention from our mortality.
But there are consequences because of this. Like anything else, avoidance of the truth will generally manifest itself in an unhealthy manner. A whole life can be spent trying to avoid death, rather than pursuing life.
But if you come to willingly accept and embrace that you’re going to die one day, it can be empowering unlike anything else. It can set your spirit free. And it can release you from all the worries that have caused you to maladapt and steal the joy from your life.
After all what do you have to lose at some point? And why waste any more of your time outside of joy and happiness. You might as well enjoy every new day you have left. Fatalism can be good. It can be a release.
Each day becomes precious. Suddenly there is a Simple Abundance in almost everything. There is beauty everywhere. And there are still so many good people you really need to connect with.
As soon as you come to terms with the reality that you won’t live forever, an urgency for Meaning, for Peace, for Beauty and for Love will take hold. You will live and enjoy more in each minute than you used to in a day doing all the same things and more.
The “Quickening” as I call it, will take hold. Everything you do, see and experience you will enjoy in its raw and unfiltered state.
Reality and life will slam hard right into you.
And you will Let Go and Enjoy, while it does.
Chase Truth, Goodness and Beauty
Problems, difficulties and challenges will always occur. You’re aware of this by now. This is all to be expected. So you won’t allow them to discourage you and knock you off stride. You will not allow them to define your life and state of mind anymore.
Enough is enough.
You will handle it all with composure, confidence and ease.
Because your primary focus will be elsewhere.
You will pursue Truth, Goodness and Beauty each day.
There will be no more lies, especially to yourself. You will seek and awash your life in the Truth. This will set your spirit free and clear a wide path. You will embrace the world as it is and press forward with Energy and Verve.
You will do what’s right. Period. Easy or hard you will do the right thing. Discipline, courage and perseverance will rule the day from now on. You will operate with a clear conscience and this too will set you free and set you at ease.
And then it will happen.
You will Let Go and Enjoy.
There will be beauty in people, beauty in nature, beauty in love, beauty in the arts and beauty in you.
All the best,
