So you’ve decided it’s time for a change. You’ve gotten off track and your forward momentum has ground to a halt. In some respects, you might even find yourself in a deep hole through a lack of focus and some bad habits. Time has added up and the man you see in the mirror is headed in the wrong direction.
Fine. What’s done is done. No man is perfect and it’s very easy to get a little lost in this broken world of ours. But enough is enough. You’re fed up with yourself and it’s time to reclaim the glory of your full potential—the fire still burns within. Good.
Get started by eliminating those behaviors in your life that make you weaker. Weakness is not good.
You will want to develop all the positive momentum you can without dragging along the ball and chain of your bad habits. Negative actions will create negative energy within your Soul and compromise the positive energy you are looking for.
Each of us has our own vices, be they behaviors or states of mind. At some point a man gets tired of sabotaging his own life through weakness. He realizes that at some point you can’t burn the candle at both ends. At some point a man hits the wall and it’s time to play it straight.
Smarten up; make a damn decision and move on to the personal greatness that lies within.

Once you’ve cleared a path to move ahead at full throttle, it’s time to focus on the big three—Mind, Health and Money. These are the three areas of a man’s life that he can ultimately control. Make the big three the primary focus of your efforts and commit to never stop and never quit.
Do not just focus on one area to the detriment of the other two. For example, spending a disproportionate amount of time in the gym developing muscle mass. Added muscle mass is good, but not at the expense of your Mind and Financial wellbeing.
If you need to go hardcore in one area over the others for a period, such as cutting excess weight, that’s fine. But do not get seduced into favoring one area at the expense of the others. Doing so will severely limit your development. Your goal should be to become a complete man.
Pursue all three areas with a vengeance and eventually the magic of compounding will come into play. You will begin to tip the natural order in your favor and circumstances and results will start falling into place as if guided by hand. Serendipity will become your ally and what used to be hard will become easy.
Commit to all three pillars and the sky’s the limit. You can take your life to a whole other level and then a whole other level after that.
Better your Mind, your Health and your Financials.
The path to personal greatness all starts in your mind. Create a Life Mission for yourself and get control over your mindset.
Make your Life Mission the pursuit of Virtue, Excellence and Quality. Embody these three qualities and you can’t go wrong. Read Virtue, Excellence and Quality – That’s All You Need.
Next, craft a very specific Life Vision, laying out the details of the outcomes you desire for your life on this planet. And among this Life Vision, pick a One Thing—something that will inspire you like nothing else and light your life on fire; something that, when you achieve it, will set you free.
Make a conscious decision to get control over your mindset. Realize that most of your thoughts and self-talk is completely useless and, for many of you, detrimental to your success. You are not your mind, you are your Soul. Put your Soul in charge of your mind and train it to a level of excellence as you would your body.
Embrace Stoicism as the foundation for your thinking. Make it the operating system for your mind. Read Stoic Principles For Successful Living From Marcus Aurelius Part 1 and Stoic Principles For Successful Living From Marcus Aurelius Part 2. Practice makes perfect here, just as with physical skill. Put the basic principles of Stoicism at the front of your mind and work them over and over again until they become a reflex.
Combining a finely crafted plan for the rest of your life along with a hardy mental framework will become the foundation for your success. Creating who you want to become in your mind and then developing the mindset to effectively navigate the circumstances of life will make you twice the man.
Once you develop some momentum, it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy lifting you to a higher plane of existence. You will feel the power, it will be self-sourced and it will be good. At some point you will look back in pity at your old self.
The bottom line here is to eat right and get yourself fit. Getting your diet and fitness in order will add fuel to the fire. As you transform your physique and acquire the energy from being in peak physical condition, you will send a message both explicitly and subconsciously to those around you that you are a becoming new man.
As you stand tall and carry yourself with energy and verve, you will begin to send out the subtle social cues that demand respect and lead to success. Despite our modern technological society, the physical realm still matters. Eventually people will step aside as you pass by and some will apologize as they do; even other men.
Your new physical presence will make a huge difference as you go about each day. People will afford you a higher level of respect and this, as well, will become a self-fulfilling prophecy; a positive feedback loop that will lift your confidence and begin to open doors. Walking around with some muscle mass and developing some physical explosiveness will make a significant impact.
Start by cutting the weight you need to cut. Get back to your prime physical weight. Read Go Hardcore And Cut Weight Like A Man. Shed the excess fat and sculpt your six-pack. Remember, you do have 100% control over what you put in your mouth. Harden yourself and get over your weak addiction to food.
Get off the carbohydrate (read SUGAR) based Standard American Diet and go Paleo. The goal here is to eat in accordance with our human evolutionary history. Eat whole natural foods where the majority of your calories come from saturated fat and protein. Minimize carbohydrates. Read The Cholesterol Lie – And The Truth and The Cholesterol Lie – Foods To Avoid And The Numbers To Understand. Learn to eat with purpose and precision.
Getting off of carbohydrates will get you off the glucose-insulin cycle that makes you hungry every 3-4 hours. It will put a stop to the cycle that is responsible for all the modern diseases of dietary excess such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer and dementia. And it will make it much easier to go longer periods of time without eating.
Add another level of discipline to your life and fast for 16 hours a day. Finish dinner by 7pm and don’t eat again until at least 11am the next morning. And there you have it, an easy 16 hours a day without food. This will turn you from a sugar burner into a fat burner. You will not need to eat every few hours, your body will get a chance to cleanse itself and you will have energy all day long.
And last, but no least, begin resistance and high intensity training—lift weights and do sprints or bag work. Be smart and start easy, but get yourself on a regular regimen. Read How To Remain Exceptionally Fit For Life.
Alternating between these two types of physical conditioning will have a tremendous effect on your health and physical presence. It will tune your metabolism to keep you at prime weight and add some explosiveness and magnetism to your physical stature.
The bottom line here is to cash flow every month. This is the cure all. Cash Flow is the answer to all your financial issues. And if you are working and earning a full time living it is within your grasp. Just as with the food you put in your mouth, ultimately you do have 100% control.
Get off the Hedonic Treadmill and restructure your expenses until you have cash left over at the end of every pay cycle. And then take that cash and apply it to debt, save it or invest for the long term. It’s that simple.
If you do not have extra cash each month you are on the Hedonic Treadmill. You have sold out your financial future for immediate material reward. There is no way around it. There is no way to deny it. As a man you do have free will and you have exercised that will to put yourself upside down when it comes to income and expenses.
It is very easy and seductive to slide into a negative cash flow situation. We live in a materialistic society where credit is always available and immediate gratification is marketed to us all day long. A man can also want the very best for his woman and children and slowly work his way into a hole providing for them.
If you do find yourself upside down it’s time to take back control.
Start at the most basic level and put a budget together. We’re talking nothing more than some simple arithmetic here; addition and subtraction. Don’t consider yourself above something as fundamental as a household budgetary spreadsheet. If your net worth doesn’t improve every month, by definition you need one. Get it done.
List your monthly net income at the top and then create a line item for every monthly expense category you can think of. Taking this simple step will provide the framework for your financial future. It will allow you to manipulate your income and expense totals and then view the effect on your bottom line cash flow.
Now you know what you need to do. Either you find a way to earn more income or you reduce your overhead and expenses. Or, in the long term, you do both.
Pick a monthly cash flow figure you would like to achieve and the take the steps necessary to get there. Pursue that promotion, work more hours or get yourself a side hustle. Cut whatever expenses you need to cut right now and then play the long game with the remainder of your overhead.
To get there, embrace Spartan Minimalism and convert your woman as well. Expect some resistance here, but remember that one way or another it is you that will shoulder the blame if you do not make financial progress. Ultimately your woman will blame you if things fall apart no matter how complicit she was along the way.
Rightsize your home, vehicle and lifestyle choices. It is possible to live in a modest, yet still elegant fashion so that there is cash left over after every pay check. It may take some time to get there, but begin the process.
Better to live modestly and cash flow than be a slave to debt and your employer.
Get your act together. Stop doing things that make you weak and start doing things that make you strong. There is no need to over complicate matters—avoid weakness and pursue strength.
Create some positive momentum. Cut out the shallow distractions, remove the bad habits and then begin the work to improve your mind, health and financials. Simple, but smart.
A smart man will remove what is holding him back and then begin to work on what he can control.
Take control of your mind, your health and your money. Commit to No More Zero Days and become a better man each day. Be consistent and play the long game.
Put yourself first in these areas and in the long run all those around you will benefit.
Shoulder the load and always strive to become better, you will never regret it.
All the best,
