At some point in your life you’ve got to decide you are going to refuse to suffer.
Accept the fact that life is sometimes very difficult and make the decision right now there is no benefit to mental anguish. It is not noble, it is not admirable and it serves no constructive purpose.
At some point enough becomes enough.
Do not allow yourself to suffer.
Don’t doubt for a moment that you can make this decision.
Allow the concept to enter your mind and make it real.
I’m not talking about the denial of reality. When the shit hits the fan you are going to have to deal with it. But do so with Stoic objective perception. Remain at arms length and assess the situation with all the intellect you have. You will do it in this manner simply because it is the best way to respond. There is no benefit to handicapping yourself with self-pity or poor morale in the midst of a challenging predicament.
Just because your mind tells you something is very bad does not mean you have to let it consume you and tear you apart. Tell your mind you will not suffer. Tell it you will continue to function at a very high level. Making a deliberate decision to control your thought process and keeping your emotions in check will allow you to maintain your composure and take action. You will make the best of a bad situation.
And that’s the goal here, to fight like hell to make things better. There is never anything wrong with that. Never feel guilty for taking care of yourself so you can help wherever you can.
Perhaps there is no immediate answer or solution. Maybe there is no way out. But you do not know that for sure. No one knows what the future holds. There might just be a better future ahead for you; even if extreme difficulty or tragedy strikes in your life.
So if you refuse to fall apart and press ahead as best you can it might turn out that one day something does pop up. Turn your pain into preparation. Make yourself the very best you can be.
Remember, luck favors the prepared. Work the natural order to your advantage. Get yourself way out ahead; way out in front. Leave nothing to chance and you might just open the door to serendipity.
Who knows why the Creator allows all the terrible things that happen on this earth to occur. All I know is that I am not going to win an argument with Him and apparently we are here to face challenges.
And face challenges we all will. Some of them will be gut busting, ugly, chaotic and brutal; they will tear your heart out. No one is immune and no one is untouchable.
Even worse, some of life’s nastiness will continue for the long term. As soon as you think you’ve turned the corner another crash will occur. Over and over again this will continue. How is one supposed to function then?
I will say it again: refuse to suffer.
Even if there is no guaranteed answer to your problem, do what you think is best. Taking action is the key. This is just the way the world works. You can always course correct if necessary. Keep paring away. Use your imagination and creativity. Always look for another solution. No one can ask for anything more than that.
And never avoid doing the right thing because you are afraid of the consequences. Chances are you will be postponing the inevitable. The right thing is the right thing for a reason, even though it might be very difficult to do.
It might even be the case that your avoidance of doing the right thing has contributed to your situation in the first place. And if you don’t put a stop to it, it will probably get worse. Sometimes, when you are at the end of your rope, all you will have are your convictions and principled action—do the right thing.
So acquire the courage necessary and apply what is right. Keep at it and layer all that you know and all that you can summon from within. And do this with a clear mind and refuse to suffer so that you can stay in it for the long term.
At some point you might even make this decision just to protect yourself. After all, your life does matter. There comes a point in a man’s life when he becomes sick and tired of being sick and tired. Why continue in this way? Get angry if you have to. You are not going to do anyone any good if you are falling apart.
Push back in the opposite direction of giving in to despair rather than as most people would do. Become twice and then three times the man you are now. Sear it into your soul that you will never stop and will never quit. Harden your mind to standing tall.
Give yourself every advantage. Even if it’s not all about you, becoming a better man can only be a plus for those you care about. There is no negative to becoming the very best you can be no matter what the circumstances. And it all starts in your mind by refusing to suffer.
Recognize your negative thinking and at bare minimum empty your mind when you begin to slip into the abyss. And then move to interdict with a refuse to suffer mindset. Make it a habit. Recognize, interdict and then replace. Make this pattern an obsession.
Replace your pain with the slow burning and stubborn will to persevere at all costs. Make it your Code. Make it a matter of principle. Be defiant. Do everything right purely on conviction. This is the best way to overcome.
Raise yourself up in defiance of your difficulties.
Impress the Creator even if you do have some issues with Him. Tilt His natural order in your favor. Dare Him to intercede on your behalf through righteous action.
Refuse to suffer and become indomitable.
Become a Force of Nature.
All the best,
